Many of us have either started back at school, or today is our first day! Or you’re working, but always get that sense that September is a fresh start. Whatever your situation, these are the essentials you should have in your bag to keep you organized, sleek and most importantly, happy and excited for this gorgeous fall season!
1. A really nice pen.
You never know when you need to jot something down. Also, a nice pen totally speaks volumes about you to your peers. Hate to say it, but it’s true. Gel pen vs. inky black ‘adult looking’ pen = huge difference. I like these, because they’re affordable and super flowy. If you want to go an even more professional route, try this guy.
2. Some form of papyrus.
3. A charger for your phone.
There’s nothing worse than having 29% battery at 3:15 PM. Be prepared. This mini 3 in 1 charger lets you charge in the car too!
There are often introductions on the first day of class, so don’t be caught with a dry throat and lips. It’s amazing the confidence a little cherry chap stick can produce (ask Katy Perry). And, awkward, but this original nipple balm for lips is the best I’ve ever used.
5. A change of comfortable walking shoes.
If you’re in New York, chances are you probably already know this is a law of the land. Look for a pair that adds practically no weight to your bag.
Because being told you smell amazing is the best.
Again, don’t be the person with bad breath. Unless you want people to steer clear of you.
8. A SNACK.
My family calls me “it” when I haven’t eaten. Keep one of these bars on hand, or keep a small container of almonds (which work wonders on alleviating hunger quickly).
9. A bottle of water.
I like this bottle. An incredible human being, whom I had the honor of meeting, named Stanley Borzykowski, always said that they key to living a long life was drinking water and walking. He lived until 104.
Let’s leave our homes this September, fully prepared and excited for whatever we’re doing! xx
